2. Membership

  1. The membership of the Branch consists of
    1. all members in good standing of the Association who reside in Nunavut; and
    2. members in good standing of the Association who, not being resident in Nunavut but being members of the Law Society of Nunavut, have elected to belong to the Branch.
  2. Suspension and Disqualification
    1. Any member who ceases to be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Nunavut by reason of disciplinary action shall cease to be a member of the Association;
    2. Any member or affiliate shall be suspended for non-payment of fees, and their membership shall lapse for non-renewal ninety days from the date their membership comes up for renewal; and
    3. Any member or affiliate may, after due inquiry, be suspended or expelled from membership for misconduct in the member's relations to the Association or the Branch or in the profession, upon resolution of the Executive Committee.
  3. All members of the Branch shall have equal rights and privileges, including the rights to attend all meetings of the Branch, to have a deliberative voice therein, to vote, to hold office and to propose and second resolutions.

Affiliates

  1. Any person interested in the objects of the Branch who is not eligible to become a member of the Association may apply to become an affiliate of the Branch for the sole purpose of participation in the activities of the Branch or of a Section.
  2. The Executive Committee may establish criteria for acceptance of affiliates.
  3. Application for affiliation with the Branch shall be in the form and manner prescribed by the Branch and shall be accompanied by the full amount of the dues prescribed.
  4. Affiliates have the right to attend meetings and participate in the activities of the Branch or of a Section and shall have a deliberative voice therein, but shall not have the right to vote, to hold office, or to propose or second resolutions.
